In this message from Matthew 13, we look at the Parable of the Sower through a fresh lens, not simply as a story about faithfulness, but as an invitation to listen, wrestle, and respond to the truth of God.
Jesus often taught in parables because they invite us into a journey of discovery. Like a riddle, they require us to lean in, think critically, and decide whether we have “ears to hear” and “eyes to see.” And in that process, we learn that it’s the journey toward the truth of God, not just the final destination, that reveals the truth of God.
Through the different types of soil, this message challenges us to ask: What kind of soil am I becoming? Am I closed off, shallow, distracted, or ready to receive what God wants to grow in me? The good news is that no one is stuck where they are. Jesus is still inviting us to listen, trust, take the next step, and become the kind of soil where His kingdom can grow and produce fruit far beyond what we could imagine.
