Baptism
What is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. It’s a sign that your old way of living is gone, and you are becoming a new person. Going under water symbolizes Jesus’ death and burial. Coming up out of the water symbolizes Jesus’ resurrection, or coming back to life.
Our baptisms are public opportunities for you to share your faith, and for your church, family, and friends to celebrate what God is doing in your life. We baptize to follow both Jesus’s example and his instructions to his followers.
Romans 6:4
Matthew 28:19-20

Baptism FAQ
Your baptism should have signified you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning a changed life, and uniting with a new family. If your baptism did not reflect this change of life, then you should be baptized again.
We will baptize anyone age 8 and over who understands what baptism symbolizes and wants to make that personal public declaration. We encourage parents to partner with PCC Kids and PCC Students to guide your children through these decisions of faith and to determine when they’re ready. You and your child can learn more about baptism at an upcoming Kids Baptism Class.
At PCC we offer Child Dedication. Child Dedication is a special time for parents to acknowledge that their child is a gift from God. This is a separate service (or time set aside during a Sunday service) where parents commit to raising their child where they are learning about God and guiding them toward a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and the church commits to partnering with parents in this. Child Dedication is offered two times a year in the spring and fall. View upcoming Child Dedications on our Events Page. If you have questions about Child Dedication, contact children@pccwired.net.
