Moldova Missions

Why Moldova?

Eastern Europe still bears the scars of the former Soviet Union’s iron fisted grip. Moldova is the smallest and poorest of countries that came out of that era. Moldova borders Ukraine and is living under the threat of Russian invasion resulting in high inflation, shortages of food and energy and a refugee inflow that puts additional strain on a fragile economy and government.

PCC is working through and with JMI (Justice and Mercy International) in Moldova to impact and improve the lives of at-risk children and young adults. The once deplorable government run orphanages have been replaced with an under resourced foster care system that leaves kids in poverty and very little opportunity for education beyond what we would call middle school. They are often exploited in the workplace and lured into crime and prostitution and are preyed on by human traffickers.

The Transitional Care Program is aimed at helping them prepare for independent living through training, mentoring, counseling, financial assistance and pointing them toward a loving God.
